![]() ![]() Reaper sort of comes close to it (I own most of these DAWs as I am a gear junkie), your mention of Studio One, still not the same workflow. Unlike in other DAWs, you have to move back to the initial sample and drag a copy of it in the place you want it at. ![]() Pencil tool majorly as you can just draw loops or one shots regardless where you are in the arrangement window. this may be silly to most but my two major reasons to return to Acid (which I really don't see with others) are the pencil tool and explorer window being available as you work along. It sucks and AP6 never had that issue.I have been replying to others on this topic as I love AP and a longtime user who returned to it after getting annoyed with other "major" DAWS. In order to transfer stems you have to print them minus effects and then redo the effects and automation in the other DAW. So for instance, if you have a delay effect thats automated on the main vocal it will duplicate it on every stem, making it 10x louder when you reassemble the song. It will render the same bus track output on every stem. I'm only opening AP7 to transfer projects over to S1 nowadays, which even then is a problem because AP7 doesn't render stems correctly. It's workflow is very similar to Acid, but way more stable, more features, and better looking. It sucks and AP6 never had that issue.Īgreed.I started with Acid Pro 3 and was on the beta team for versions 5, 6, and 7. Sony also completely gave up on UAD compatibility which is also worse in 7 than 6 (although 6 had some slight problems with UAD also). Even the paste function doesn't work right. AP7 is mostly unusable in comparison and shows the same GUI problems on my Win7 multicore laptop as it did on my old P4 WinXP machine. ![]() I have AP6 and AP7 installed on my current studio computer and the difference is night and day. It's major bugs actually shut down my productivity for a while and other DAWs never felt as fluid. REAPER and Studio One are my current daws of choice started with Acid Pro 3 and was on the beta team for versions 5, 6, and 7.ĪP7 was the worst for me. ![]() I have longed for a new version but 5 years later given up hope. Using Acid Pro in its present format as a 32bit application is problematic for plugin capacity. And was released in 2008 in its current version. But unfortunately Acid Pro hasnt been updated since Feb 2010. It could just be my ear perception but final mixdown coming out of Cubase, Logic, sounds "sweetened". started back in 97 and just for image, I got into using these "industry" standard DAWs, nothing works like ACID, the workflow the ease of use and personally, I feel the sound quality is that of a tape machine. Sent from my Nexus 4Hey man, I went through Cubase (Currently own ver 7), Sonar, Pro Tools, Magix, Reaper and imo, the most annoying to work with-Logic.ACID is what I went back to. I'm stay with acid pro for awhile but still work on other software here and there. Not like other software where they have to update all the time cause of some issues. Only thing is Sony take a long time to upgrade the software but when they do it a true upgrade. Along with sound forge and wave diamond bundle plugin package. I use it for vocals most of the time since 04. As in acid pro in my opinion, I have more control with levels editing and etc. Mostly of them I can say they get the job done right. I know this is a old post! But acid pro is amazing program, I used sonar, pro tools, cubase, and etc. ![]()
